Purpose

The Senior Program Manager, Experience, Innovation & Technology is expected to lead a critical workstream within a major hospital construction initiative. This position is responsible for translating innovative concepts into actionable strategies that integrate smart technology, digital systems, research, and human-centered design into a next-generation academic medical center. Reporting to senior leadership, the Program Manager will drive execution across design, construction, IT, and clinical operations, serving as the primary lead for a future-focused hospital build program.

Responsibilities

Translates Visionary Roadmaps into Executable Plans

  • Converts strategic concepts into actionable project plans across design, construction, IT, operations, and patient experience.

  • Defines scope, milestones, and deliverables for innovation workstreams.

  • Aligns execution plans with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.

  • Establishes governance structures and accountability frameworks.

  • Tracks progress and adjusts plans dynamically.

Frames and Drives Innovation Components

  • Leads the conceptualization and integration of smart rooms, embedded research, robotics, and hybrid care models.

  • Identifies emerging technologies and evaluates their application in the hospital environment.

  • Develops implementation strategies for digital navigation, command centers, and automated workflows.

  • Ensures innovation is embedded from design through activation.

  • Balances ambition with feasibility and operational readiness.

Collaborates Across Disciplines to Ensure Alignment and Momentum

  • Partners with the CTO, clinical leaders, facilities, and external vendors.

  • Facilitates cross-functional workgroups and decision-making forums.

  • Builds consensus and resolves conflicts across stakeholder groups.

  • Maintains momentum through clear communication and shared goals.

  • Ensures alignment between innovation, clinical operations, and infrastructure.

Leads Financial Modeling and Program Integration

  • Develops cost/benefit models for innovation components.

  • Integrates financial analysis into program budgeting and resource planning.

  • Identifies funding opportunities and cost-saving strategies.

  • Supports risk mitigation through scenario planning and forecasting.

  • Communicates financial implications to executive leadership.

Champions User-Centered and Future-Ready Design

  • Advocates for environments that prioritize patient, provider, and learner experience.

  • Applies human-centered design principles to space and technology planning.

  • Ensures flexibility, accessibility, and adaptability in design.

  • Incorporates simulation, research, and education needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

  • 7+ years leading complex, large scale, and innovative projects in healthcare, technology, or related industries.

  • Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary innovation initiatives with significant stakeholder coordination

  • Technologically savvy with a lifelong learner mindset and the ability to quickly understand new and emerging systems.

  • Strong communication skills and technical fluency across engineering, clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with hospital technologies such as Epic, RTLS, AV systems, and building automation, though deep specialization is not required.

  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

  • PMP certification or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Healthcare IT, Engineering, Architecture, or Business.

  • Experience with advanced technologies including robotics, biomedical systems, digital experience platforms, and intelligent infrastructure

  • Proficient in designing and planning high-tech facilities, ensuring seamless integration of advanced technologies, optimized workflows, and compliance with regulatory standards to support cutting-edge healthcare and research environments.

  • Strong knowledge of academic medicine, clinical research, and simulation, enabling the design of environments that enhance education, training, and scientific advancement in healthcare settings.
