Position Summary

The Regional Sales Director is accountable for leading and scaling iRhythm's commercial efforts across a defined geography. As a key member of the Sales leadership team, this role partners closely with the Area Vice President (AVP) to develop and execute regional growth strategies aligned to national objectives. The Director will drive performance through strategic planning, effective team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring consistent delivery of iRhythm's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the AVP to define and execute the regional vision, commercial strategies, and long-term market expansion plans.

  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships with peer leaders to drive alignment and support collaborative initiatives.

  • Monitor, assess and communicated updates to leadership related to external market dynamics and internal trends to inform strategy and ensure competitive positioning.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, providing insights from the field and ensuring regional alignment with organizational goals.

Team Development & Performance

  • Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Sales and Clinical representatives.

  • Drive a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous development through coaching, field visits, and tailored development plans.

  • Establish clear performance expectations; track progress and take corrective action to ensure goal achievement.

Sales Execution & Market Development

  • Design and implement direct sales strategies to drive growth and increase adoption of the ZIO service.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to execute regional demand generation, physician engagement, and local market development strategies.

  • Identify and act on changes in healthcare policy, market access, and reimbursement to adapt tactics and maintain growth trajectory.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, healthcare systems, and executive-level decision-makers.

  • Represent iRhythm in high-stakes negotiations and ensure favorable contract outcomes that support regional and corporate objectives.

  • Serve as a visible leader and advocate for iRhythm's value proposition across the region.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the regional team with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage budget planning, compensation strategy execution, and sales forecasting (monthly, quarterly, annual).

  • Ensure alignment and collaboration with cross-functional partners across the organization.

  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills, with a strong track record of managing complex sales cycles, driving team accountability, and ensuring timely execution of regional strategies and revenue-generating activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive sales experience, including 5+ years in people management roles within the healthcare, medical device, or life sciences industry.

  • Proven ability to lead regional or multi-state teams to exceed sales targets in complex, competitive environments.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing market expansion strategies, including launching new territories or offerings.

  • Experience engaging with executive-level customers, health systems, and/or IDNs.

  • Deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, especially within cardiology or diagnostic services, is strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong commercial acumen, including ability to assess business drivers and make data-informed decisions.

  • Ability to travel up to 70% based on business needs.

Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.

Estimated Pay Range

$158,000 - $185,000
