The STOX AWM Program Manager will operate within the Strategy, Technology, and Operations Excellence function of the Advance Wound Management (AWM) business unit. This role is critical to the execution of strategic and transformational programs that align with Smith+Nephew's enterprise objectives. The position requires a high-performing individual capable of managing complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through completion.

The role involves strong collaboration with internal business partners, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and Finance, as well as external consultants and partners. The successful candidate must be adept at managing change, influencing without authority, and leading multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural teams across global locations.

What will you be doing?

Program / Project Design (20%)

  • Develop comprehensive execution plans including timelines, resourcing strategies, and risk mitigation.

  • Lead program scoping and stakeholder alignment forums to establish clear and shared objectives.

Planning / Delivery (50%)

  • Execute and continuously improve strategic programs with well-defined goals, budgets, and schedules.

  • Lead the development and implementation of robust project methodologies and governance models.

  • Track and manage progress across workstreams, ensuring deliverables meet quality, cost, and time expectations.

  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to address project challenges with sustainable solutions.

People Management (5%)

  • Promote a results-driven, collaborative culture within project teams.

  • Support career development and performance management for project team members.

  • Foster team accountability and alignment with program objectives.

Change Management (20%)

  • Lead stakeholder engagement efforts including roadshows, workshops, and communications

  • Develop communication forums for cross-functional integration and conflict resolution.

  • Align program messaging across all levels of the organization to ensure understanding and buy-in.

  • Manage cultural sensitivities and effectively navigate international team dynamics.

Quality & Compliance Management (5%)

  • Ensure all programs adhere to applicable compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., QMS, FDA, SOX).

  • Identify and proactively manage risks, ensuring mitigations are in place and documented.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or Manufacturing required. MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in program/project management within a mid-to-large corporate environment.

  • Experience in the Medical Device Industry is required.

  • International and cross-cultural project experience is preferred.

  • Areas of expertise ideally include: Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Lean, PMP certification preferred.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Skilled in strategic thinking and tactical execution simultaneously

  • Advanced planning and organizational skills, with a detail- and process-oriented mindset.

  • Proven ability to lead and influence without direct authority

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $117,500 - $193,875 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
