Job Objective:
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and repair work in electrical repairs and in maintaining electrical elements of machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, lighting, generators, control and safety systems, communication equipment and production machines and equipment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean and safe working environment

  • Knowledge of all production electrical related equipment
  • Abides by all recognized safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Facilitate learning before, during and after completion of any job or major activity
  • Train and motivate peers.
  • Interaction with Instrument Techs and Mechanics on maintenance issues and opportunities
  • Performs skilled work in placing and removing electrical components as well as repairing wires, cable conduit, and various electrical components.
  • Installs electrical conduit, cable, and vaults.
  • Inspects, tests, calibrates, and adjusts various controls or meters used in the electrical system.
  • Install and maintain all electrical equipment to ensure compliance with latest NEC, OSHA and NFPA codes and requirements
  • Assist and installation and start - up of new equipment
  • Maintain, repair electrical systems
  • Conduct duties in a manner that provides for the utmost protection of the environment
  • Report all incidents and near-misses related to personnel, equipment and the environment.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job
  • Understand and participate in MOC system
  • Maintain equipment records and EAM work order system
  • Work with Maintenance Foremen and data base administrator to update equipment tasks, based on process/equipment changes to ensure accuracy of EAM data.
  • Troubleshoots electrical devices in operation and makes necessary repairs/modifications.
  • Performs electrical, instrument, analyzer, air conditioning, and heating repairs.
  • Reads and understands electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Repairs electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatuses, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures; determining faulty wiring; and inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery.
  • Maintains electrical equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Estimates cost, time, and materials for electrical projects.
  • Ability to cost track and adhere to Company budget
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and integrate into a positive team environment
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists other crafts as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years minimum experience required in electrical maintenance. Oil and gas field experience preferred.
  • Safe work practices and knowledge of various voltage levels as it pertains to working on electricity, generator systems, switch gear, and MCCs.
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in electrical repair and maintenance work.
  • Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of electrical theory as applied to electrical circuits and wiring systems and ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to accurately solve problems.
  • Ability to confidently ask questions from peers and/or outside resources to optimize troubleshooting or repair task.
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.

  • Ability to work a 7/7 (7 days on hitch/ 7 days off hitch) 12hr work schedule.

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Required: State Journeyman Electrical Certification
