Under moderate supervision, assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Use various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitor quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Perform simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determine and corrects minor machine malfunctions. May train less experienced peers.
Trainer weekend shift Friday through Sunday 6am-6pm
- Perform manufacturing and assembly of products in accordance to written production records while observing appropriate safety guidelines.
- Required to review and recommend change to technical documentation, including batch records, WI's and SOP's.
- Operate semi-automated and automated manufacturing equipment in order to sub divide dry chemicals.
- Weigh, measure, blend and check liquid and chemical raw materials to assure batches manufactured contain proper materials and quantities.
- Maintain proper production records to comply with requirements (ISO 9001:2000, SOP's and Work Instructions).
- Properly operate material monitoring devices, including weighing systems, calibration, cleaning and upkeep.
- Properly use safety and environmental control systems, including dust collection and scrubbing devices to ensure proper operation, including cleaning and upkeep.
- Maintain equipment and rooms in proper operating condition by following daily cleaning requirements.
- Perform activities in controlled environment, while assuring the use of appropriate PPE equipment.
- Perform in-process testing to assure batches meet specifications.
- Train associates and evaluate progress on operation of equipment and chemical processes, including safety procedures and proper handling of materials.
- Provide leadership and good work ethics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Specific Trainer Qualifications: The Drys Trainer will be responsible for training of 3-6 trainees on their shift. Preferred requirements for the role:
- Passion for training and developing peers.
- Experience in packaging in the Drys area.
- Excellent track record of low paperwork errors and high productivity as a packager.
The Drys Trainer will work with the Team Lead on their shift to select jobs to have their trainees package each shift. Focus will be to build basic skills on more common jobs so trainees can learn proper documentation practices while remaining productive in the Drys area eventually building to learn more complex packaging of more complex materials. Trainer will also help improve skill block documentation for trainees by updating and adding to existing documentation for training.
This role will also learn the responsibilities of the Drys "Job Closer" role in order to back up any absences of this role. Key responsibilities and requirements for this backup role are:
- Learning 2-3 SAP transactions. Entering data from job documentation into SAP and solving for any errors.
- Review jobs for any errors, missing fields or inaccuracies then flagging them for return to the shifts for correction before submission to QA.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
High school diploma required; Associate's degree in a life science or engineering discipline preferred. Minimum of 3 years prior experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment, along with general understanding of semi-automated and/or automated equipment is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of computer usage is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the MS Office Suite, as well as Windows and general knowledge of applications.
- Ability to evaluate internal customer needs, and respond with appropriate action/delivery.
