Overview:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the ongoing operation, reliability, and efficiency of our production and facility equipment. This position is responsible for performing complex maintenance and repair work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. In addition to troubleshooting and corrective action, the Maintenance Technician supports continuous improvement initiatives, preventive maintenance programs, and the installation of new equipment or process enhancements. This role is ideal for a skilled technician with strong technical aptitude and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician will support the repair, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and building systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform repair and assembly work on complex equipment containing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment faults and malfunctions; determine scope of repairs and consult with the area lead as needed.
- Suggest corrective actions and initiate repair procedures.
- Conduct system test runs, validate performance, document results, and instruct machine operators.
- Complete major repairs, modifications, and retrofits on production machinery.
- Install, maintain, and optimize new automation/process technology components as part of ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify equipment weaknesses and opportunities for optimization during production ramp-up or transition periods.
- Execute planned and unplanned maintenance tasks as assigned; ensure maintenance is performed to a high standard using available instructions or checklists.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures, intervals, and standards to increase equipment efficiency and lifespan.
- Coordinate and perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting on production and facility equipment (e.g., HVAC and chiller systems); involve OEMs as necessary.
- Support annual equipment requalification and improvement initiatives by executing and documenting necessary test procedures.
- Manufacture spare parts and auxiliary equipment from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions when needed.
- Assist in the installation, disassembly, and reassembly of machinery components.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of process improvements and participate in small-scale CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of at least 3 years of specialized vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a technical maintenance role, or 3 years of direct, relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of automated equipment and facility systems.
