Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:

As an experienced engineer, you know how to design, develop, and deliver innovative AI-powered solutions that showcase the practical value of generative AI and large language models (LLMs). This role combines deep technical expertise with strong consulting skills to create frameworks, tools, and applications that deliver measurable impact for clients. You will architect modular, reusable, and AI application patterns, integrate multiple model providers such as cloud-hosted, local, and hybrid, and apply advanced generative AI techniques across text, voice, and other modalities. You will also design solutions that are deployable across a variety of contexts, from cloud-hosted platforms to portable, self-contained builds, optimizing for usability, portability, and performance. In addition, you will engage directly with clients to understand mission needs, present AI solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences, and guide adoption from concept through delivery.

In this role, you'll own and define the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying optimal AI/ML algorithms and technologies. You'll be part of a large community of AI and ML engineers across the company, collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners to deliver world-class solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Design adaptable AI application architectures that support multiple providers, modalities, and deployment modes.
  • Build modular and reusable components and frameworks for rapid creation of new AI-powered capabilities.
  • Integrate LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns into production-ready systems.
  • Apply prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, and agent-based architectures such as MCP and A2A, to enable goal-directed autonomy with guardrails, observability, and human oversight, including planning, tool use, and delegation.
  • Architect and optimize AI applications for various deployment scenarios, including embedded, offline-capable, and hybrid solutions.
  • Implement model evaluation, benchmarking, and optimization for cost, latency, and accuracy.
  • Develop pipelines for preparing, chunking, and enriching structured or unstructured data for AI workflows.
  • Combine text, audio, and other modalities in unified processing workflows, including document summarization and voice transcription.
  • Leverage vector databases and hybrid search to enhance retrieval accuracy in RAG systems.
  • Deploy AI services securely and at scale on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Use containerizing, including in Docker or Kubernetes, or serverless approaches for flexible deployment.
  • Apply CI/CD best practices for AI applications, including automated testing, prompt or version management, and model deployment.
  • Leverage modern build and packaging workflows to deliver optimized, portable application artifacts.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify high-value AI opportunities and define solution requirements.
  • Present AI capabilities and technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead workshops and prototyping sessions to accelerate adoption.
  • Provide guidance on responsible AI practices, ethics, and compliance.

Your skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of AI/ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with software engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in AI or ML-focused roles
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Python, and applying it to AI/ML solution development
  • Experience designing and implementing generative AI applications with LLMs
  • Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, and multi-provider integration
  • Experience building secure and scalable deployments on cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Knowledge of data processing techniques for AI, including text, audio, and multi-modal
  • Ability to engage both technical and business audiences
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a CS or Engineering field

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with agent frameworks and interoperability standards, including MCP, A2A, and LangServe
  • Experience with model fine-tuning, prompt tuning, or domain adaptation
  • Experience delivering AI solutions in client-facing consulting engagements
  • Experience with modern front-end libraries and frameworks for component-based UI development, including React, and with workflows such as build pipelines, automated testing, and code quality tooling
  • Experience with in-browser or edge AI execution and performance optimization techniques, as well as modern build and packaging approaches for portable or offline-capable applications
  • Experience with developer productivity tools such as Cursor and Windsurf
  • Knowledge of AI ethics, compliance requirements, and responsible AI practices
  • Possession of excellent communication skills
  • Master's degree in CS, AI, or a related field
