Another Source's client, Pomona College, is recruiting an Assistant Director of Leadership Annual Giving to join their team in the heart of Southern California. You will have the opportunity to work from home 2 days per week and be onsite with the team 3 days per week.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Leadership & Reunion Giving, the Assistant Director of Leadership Annual Giving serves as a frontline fundraiser, responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting alumni, parents, and friends. This role focuses on securing gifts ranging from $5,000 to $50,000+ in support of the Pomona College Annual Fund and works closely with development team members to expand and strengthen the donor base that advances the College's mission.

The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is: $71,300 - $85,000 annually based on experience.

What you can expect to be doing:

Leadership Prospect Strategy & Multi-Year Commitments

    Maintaining a focused portfolio of approximately 200 leadership annual giving prospects ($5,000-$50,000), emphasizing the cultivation and solicitation of multi-year pledges to drive sustained philanthropic growth.
  • Leveraging prospect data and relationship insights to develop customized giving strategies that convert single-year donors into multi-year partners.
  • Collaborating with Major Gifts and Research, Relationship Management & Analytics (RRMA) teams to identify, qualify, and refer leadership donors, ensuring smooth transitions and continued cultivation through the gift pipeline.

Volunteer Fundraising Leadership

  • Supporting the Director of Leadership & Reunion Giving in staffing the Family Fellows volunteer fundraising program and identifying opportunities to secure multi-year leadership annual gifts from Pomona families.
  • Assisting with stewardship activities and events for leadership annual donors, serving as a liaison for The President's Circle, Family Fellows, and Torchbearers.

Cross-Campus and Advancement Collaboration

  • Collaborating with Leadership, Annual & Reunion Giving team members to co-create the vision and execution of annual giving campaigns.
  • Contributing to strategic planning, budget development, and new initiatives for the Leadership, Annual & Reunion Giving team.
  • Providing input on strategy, analyzing progress throughout the year, and working with department stakeholders to meet or exceed assigned fundraising goals.
  • Coordinating special projects and providing assistance as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communication or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, communications or related experience is required.
  • Demonstrating success in designing and executing donor strategies that result in multi-year commitments.
  • Proficient with donor databases, reporting tools, and digital engagement platforms.
  • Building strong, relationship-driven connections while remaining results-oriented, collaborative, and committed to advancing mission-focused goals.
  • Applying professional fundraising skills in partnership with colleagues to advance the College's strategic interests.
  • Understanding and effectively communicating the mission and history of Pomona College and the value of a liberal arts education.
  • Demonstrating clear, accurate, and effective communication, including excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, phone, customer service, and leadership skills to supervise, facilitate, motivate, and inspire a diverse group of partners.
  • Operating computers proficiently with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other professional software, using technology and tools to achieve annual goals while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Upholding strong fundraising ethics and respecting the confidentiality of donor information.
  • Applying exceptional organizational, time management, analytical, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to complete work accurately and with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience at an academic institution is preferred.
