Position Summary:


SkyWater's CMP Process Development Engineer has the responsibility of owning a CMP process module for specialty foundry customers. This is an exciting time to join SkyWater where you can support development to work on process improvement, yield and process optimization projects.


Responsibilities:



  • Develop or integrate robust manufacturable process recipes for Foundry customers in the CMP area.
  • Equipment and material characterization as it relates to CMP.
  • Drive continuous improvement of CMP process capability and controls.
  • Complex CMP process integration for CMOS/MEMS/Superconducting/Photonics or other novel device types.
  • Resolve process excursions and drive permanent Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA).
  • The job also requires performing other duties as assigned. Percentages of time spent on job duties are estimates and may vary for each position.


Required Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelors & Masters in an Engineering discipline, or PhD in an Engineering discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience (Bachelors & Masters) or 2-3 years (PhD)
  • Fab processing tools knowledge/experience, particularly with CMP processing knowledge/experience.
  • CMOS/MEMS/Photonic device and integration knowledge with relevant combination of years of experience and/or advanced degree.
  • Knowledge of DOE, SPC, and 6-sigma concepts and applications.
  • Clear problem-solving capability, data driven, inventive solution oriented and can articulate thought processes.
  • Can work both independently and in cross-functional teams for problem solving.
  • US Citizenship Required: This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Education: PhD in an Engineering discipline.
  • Project Management skills and/or defined training.

The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $165,000. Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
