Project Manager Structural Fabrication Job Description

Description
- Provide guidance to all supporting departments.
- The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for client/customer communication and the on-time/on-budget delivery of their projects.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in a Project Management role (Preferably with a focus on fabrication or construction).
Duties
- Project planning: oversee projects throughout the project life cycle from estimating phase through closeout.
- Project reporting: create reports for internal and external stakeholders including financial reports, schedules, progress reports, HSE reports, etc.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients; communicate changes as they arise.
- Provide clients and internal project disciplines (Quality, HSE, Operations, Accounting) with potential solutions when issues arise.
- Serve as liaison between client and internal disciplines. Provide drawings, specifications, work packs to fabrication shops and 3rd party suppliers.
- Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Provide excellent interpersonal and customer service support.
- Manage multiple jobs/clients simultaneously.
- Organize and maintain documentation via SharePoint.
- Prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Requirements
- Proven experience managing projects in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, preferably with aerospace, subsea, or heavy structural components.
- Strong knowledge of structural fabrication processes including welding, machining, assembly, and quality control.
- Ability to interpret and manage projects using engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D models.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API, aerospace/defense standards, etc.).
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, resource planning, and cost control.
- Skilled in coordinating across engineering, quality, procurement, and operations teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to build trust and provide clear project updates.
- Knowledge of supply chain and vendor management related to structural fabrication projects.
- Strong focus on safety and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
