We are looking for world-class talent to join our team as a Production Supervisor in Lake Charles, LA. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Be a safety leader within the unit.

  • Ensure compliance with Westlake Chemical's EH&S rules, policies and programs.

  • Manage on-shift activities and drive Operations excellence.

  • Assists in training /troubleshooting operation of equipment.

  • Review/keep electronic logbooks, trends, samples and critical operating/environmental parameters to ensure acceptable performance and maintain product quality.

  • Ensure that all required training is completed by your direct reports prior to the due date (CBT's, forklift, manlift etc.).

  • Provide coordination/leadership between shift operations and shift maintenance.

  • Submit payroll data.

  • Know and apply details of the labor agreement; work with Westlake Chemical management and the union to understand/resolve issues.

  • Demonstrate leadership.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of process operations experience.

  • High school or equivalent diploma.

  • Proficiency in computer/network applications, including Microsoft Office and writing SAP notifications.

  • Work well in a team environment, balance multiple projects, and be able to make effective decisions.

  • Knowledgeable or able to learn and understand all segments of the Process Unit.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Self-Starter requiring little direct supervision.

  • Communication Skills.

  • Demonstrated good decision-making ability.

  • Ability to Work with Other Departments in Plant (Maintenance, Traffic, Environmental, etc.).

  • Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.

  • A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
