We are seeking an experienced 30-hour, Certified Nurse Midwife to support our inpatient and outpatient clinic teams. The schedule consist of 1, 12 hour call day and 2 office days (this may change based on needs of the department).
Our inpatient services are offered at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital main campus. The in house call component of this role is a 12-hour day, either 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The office days will consist of an 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule, seeing 20 patients per day at the Wentworth-Douglass Center for Women's Health & Wellness located in Portsmouth, NH. Responsible for safe and personalized care to patients in the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and routine GYN settings. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Provide prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and/or newborn care to patients. -Monitor fetal development by listening to fetal heartbeat, taking external uterine measurements, identifying fetal position, or estimating fetal size and weight. -Document patients' health histories, symptoms, physical conditions, or other diagnostic information. -Provide patients with direct family planning services, such as inserting intrauterine devices, dispensing oral contraceptives, and fitting cervical barriers, including cervical caps or diaphragms. -Prescribe medications as permitted by state regulations. -Develop and implement individualized plans for health care management. -Explain procedures to patients, family members, staff members, or others. -Order and interpret diagnostic or laboratory tests.
