Pay Grade

Salaried grade 6
$67,500 - $76,200, depending on experience and qualifications
Plus 4% shift premium for 2nd shift

Actual salaries may vary and in some cases may be higher with extensive experience and strong performance

Job Summary
McKee Foods is seeking a Plant Quality Assurance Supervisor to join the Collegedale, QA department. As a QA Technical Services Supervisor, you will lead the Technical Services team in ensuring food safety, FDA compliance, and product quality specifications. You'll supervise a team and play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to delivering top-quality products. Your responsibilities will include managing food safety, quality, and performance, coordinating investigations, and providing technical support to enhance our operation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and evaluate the Technical Services team to meet performance and compliance goals
  • Provide training and development to direct reports in food safety, quality, sanitation, safety, and performance
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, FDA regulations, and company quality standards through audits, reviews, and customer feedback
  • Lead investigations of product safety/quality issues, safety hazards, accidents, and near misses; implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Oversee product testing, sampling programs, and lab operations to ensure accurate, timely results
  • Maintain and update SOPs in Ideagen; assist with Food Safety Plan updates and continuous improvements
  • Conduct internal audits against quality system standards and serve as a subject matter expert in traceability exercises
  • Review consumer complaint data to identify trends and drive corrective actions
  • Manage compliance programs for metal detection, microbiology, and analytical testing
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and collaborate with R&D and customers on new product development
  • Safeguard products and operations by adhering to company policies, procedures, and access controls

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with one year of related experience (can include internships) or equivalent combination of education/experience (2 years of experience = 1 year of education)
  • Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interpret technical documents
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • High integrity, initiative, and commitment to company values and quality standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related systems
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to change, and collaborate with R&D
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally
  • Math proficiency (fractions, percentages, basic algebra)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
  • PCQI Certification
  • Internal Auditor certification
  • Experience with PHRS, OPM, WMS, or similar systems
  • Prior Technical Services or Quality Assurance experience
