Logistics & Inventory Control Specialist A*

Position Description

  • Ensures perpetual inventory records are correct based on sample counts and accurate system input/output transactions with all stock and stocking areas identified, organized, and maintained in a uniform and professional manner.


  • Essential Job Tasks:

  • Picks, prepares, and delivers issue and transfer material by scheduled customer date. Ensures outgoing material is accurate, complete, labeled, and securely packaged. Delivers materials to outlying locations as necessary.
  • Receives, inspects, processes, and places in inventory all incoming stock material. Electronically notifies customer of all non-stock receipts. Processes discrepancies and notifies appropriate requisitioner, Distribution Forecast Analyst, or Buyer. Ensures receipts are processed within the same working day.
  • Maintains inventory at a minimum 97.5% item accuracy. Ensures inventory is received, stored, and issued based on FIFO inventory rotation; and appropriate housekeeping is maintained in all work and storage areas. Ensures all non-stock inventory is properly identified and labeled.
  • Maintains working stock at inventory levels sufficient to accommodate historical usage. Generates and processes working stock replenishment orders using Operation's assigned activity based project and task number.
  • Monitors fuel deliveries, dispensers and tanks for spills and leaks. Performs monthly Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Underground Storage Tank, Transformer, and Equipment leak inspections and retains the required documentation. Provides daily routine inspections as needed. Complete monthly fleet reports.
  • Acts as back-up to the Senior Logistics and Inventory Specialist as needed to cover occasions when they are not available.
  • Performs turnkey inventory control and warehousing functions at remote Transmission stocking locations. Generates material issue orders, pick tickets, processes all returns and approved disposals. Maintains item accuracy, working stock, and housekeeping standards established at the primary warehouse locations.
  • Provides Job Site Deliveries to the Line Crews for critical needed items.
  • Promotes Environmental Stewardship goals by loading/hauling recycle materials from remote Transmission sites to Investment Recovery, and loading/hauling used empty wire reels and fiberglass poles to the Recycle Center.
  • Procures and/or requisitions non-stock material and services for Stores via Oracle Purchasing or P-card.

  • Logistics Control Specialist A
  • High School Diploma/GED + 5 years experience or an Associate's degree with minimum of four years related experience.
  • CDL - Class A required after one year of hire date.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows based PC applications.
  • Employee is required to cover on-call after hours warehouse material requirements.
  • Total response time not to exceed 30 minutes from time of contact.
  • Forklift Certification and Underground Storage Tank Class "C" Operator Certification (excluding Conway and Central Stores) required.


  • Compensation Information:
    $23.85 - $29.80 (min.-mid.)

    Logistics Control Specialist B
  • High School Diploma/GED + 2 years experience in shipping, receiving, and stores within a computerized inventory environment.
  • CDL - Class A required after one year of hire date.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows based PC applications.
  • Employee is required to cover on-call after hours warehouse material requirements.
  • Total response time not to exceed 30 minutes from time of contact.
  • Forklift Certification and Underground Storage Tank Class "C" Operator Certification (excluding Conway and Central Stores) required.


  • Compensation Information:
    $19.45 - $24.30 (min.-mid.)

    Logistics Control Specialist C
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • CDL - Class A required after one year of hire date.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows based PC applications.
  • Employee is required to cover on-call after hours warehouse material requirements.
  • Total response time not to exceed 30 minutes from time of contact.
  • Forklift Certification and Underground Storage Tank Class "C" Operator Certification (excluding Conway and Central Stores) required within six months of hire date.


  • Compensation Information:
    $17.50 - $21.85 (min.-mid.)
