Job Summary
#CA-DS The Patient Estimate Analyst position is responsible for handling all aspects of the preservice estimating of patient financial liability, communicating with the patient, clinical staff and pre-service collections. Provide advanced complex analyst and research on billing issues. - Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience and training.
- Minimum of 5-7 years within Healthcare Billing
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle and its component operations, including billing, collections, charge capture, contractual adjustments, third-party reimbursements, government programs, contracted private insurance and cash management. Must be able to comprehend and navigate through the complexities of the Epic Systems to be able to retrieve, change and adjust account information and create estimates.
- Extensive knowledge of eligibility, authorization and benefit verification.
- Advanced skill in analyzing a variety of factors regarding eligibility, third party payors, authorization and benefit limits to determine the need for further facts or administrative consultation.
- Extensive Analytical skills to assess account balances and make determination/decision on further action needed.
- Detail oriented, with proven ability to effectively manage time, see tasks and projects through to completion, organize competing priorities and effectively address complex, urgent issues as they arise.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on complex projects in a team environment with staff from a wide variety of business and clinical areas.
- Proven ability to work with managers, serving as a technical resource, providing recommendations and advice. Strong computer proficiency in all relevant hardware and software, with a knowledge of spreadsheet and accounting applications, and a variety of specialized billing and insurance systems.
- Excellent wiring and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and covey complex information in a clear, concise manner.
- Advanced ability to analyze and interpret various types of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Remittance Advice (RA).Match skills to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Advance knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Disease(ICD-10) policies related to medical billing.
- Ability to remain calm under stressful situations.
- General knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, FDCPA and other credit and collections rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital and professional experience preferred. Call center experience preferred.
