Our Analytical Technologies team within the Materials & Chemistry Corporate Technology groupis searching for an Analytical Scientist to drive analytical chemistry support for filtration development. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of scientists/engineers to define testing requirements, develop analytical methods, perform testing, process and interpret data, and present results to expedite product and technology development. The candidate should have strong research skills to navigate through challenging problems in less defined areas. This role must be able to work out of our Bloomington, MN office on a hybrid schedule.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to plan experimental design to solve challenging analytical problems in filtration product development

  • Execute analytical testing, analyze and interpret data, and authors clearly articulated reports and data presentations

  • Lead project teams to develop novel analytical methods using a wide range of instrumentation

  • Serve as subject matter expert in gas chromatography/mass spectrometry

  • Participate in problem solving and provide recommendation to project team based on analytical data

  • Provide guidance and directions to a team of chemists to move projects forward

  • Performs other assignments (standardized testing, EHS initiatives etc.) as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biochemistry or other related fields.

  • 5+ years of relevant industrial experience

  • Experience in chromatography and spectroscopy techniques (GCMS, FTIR, HPLC, SEC, LCMS, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree with a focus in analytical or bioanalytical chemistry or related fields (MS or PhD)

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills and ability to embrace changes with minimal directions

  • 2+ years direct work experience with chromatography (e.g., GCMS, HPLC, SEC, LCMS)

  • 2+ years direct work experience with protein or other biomolecule analysis experience

  • Protein and polymer analysis skills (analytical methods, assay development)

  • Knowledge of current bioanalytical industry guidelines and lab compliance requirements.

  • General filtration knowledge/experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with membrane technology and operating principles is a plus.

  • Resolve highly complex problems

  • Interact with all levels of the organization

  • Lead projects with minimal oversight

Annual Salary Range: $71,900 - $91,700.Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
