Systems Engineer - PNT/Alt-PNT
Overview
SCCI is seekinga highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to provide engineering support, troubleshooting, and testing expertise for Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and Alternative PNT (Alt-PNT) systems integrated with air, land, and sea platforms. This position will play a critical role in developing, evaluating, and improving the performance of PNT/Alt-PNT solutions within the Battle Management System (BMS) portfolio.This position is located in Dahlgren, VA. Responsibilities:
- Requirements Development:Facilitate requirements between PNT/ALT-PNT capabilities and weapon systems integrated with air, land, and sea platforms
- On-site Support and Troubleshooting:Provide on-site technical support for the development, integration, evaluation, and troubleshooting of PNT/Alt-PNT solutions in various SIL/operational environments
- Testing and Validation:Conduct testing and validation activities to ensure PNT/Alt-PNT systems meet performance requirements and function effectively across all supported platforms
- Performance Assessment and Improvement:Assess operational performance criteria of PNT/Alt-PNT systems, identify areas for improvement, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance performance and reliability
- Documentation and Communication:Develop and communicate engineering plans, progress, and performance results effectively, both orally and in writing. This includes technical documentation, presentations, and reports
- Problem Solving:Identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues related to PNT/Alt-PNT systems
- Collaboration:Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and program managers
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) STEM degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; Or equivalent experience such as direct hand-on experience with PNT/Alt-PNT integration and operations witha weapon system application in a like role
- Minimum of three (3) years professional technical experience
- Two (2) years of experience performing system analysis for requirements definition, system design parameters, concepts operation, risk assessment, performance analyses, or test and evaluation
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to PNT/Alt-PNT systems
- Strong understanding of PNT/Alt-PNT technologies and principles
- Experience with weapon systems integration on air, land, and sea platforms
- Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment
- Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel
- Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules
- Ability to work with others to meet established goals and program schedules
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and applications (including Cameo Systems Modeler) is desired
