Johnson County Mental Health Center is looking for a qualified applicant to fill the position of Claims Specialist. The mission of the Johnson County Mental Health Center (MHC) is to improve the quality of life for Johnson County residents by providing comprehensive mental health services that are of the highest possible quality, driven by the needs of persons served, provided in the least intrusive manner, easily assessable to all residents, provided in collaboration with community partners, and accountable to our community and the public trust through the efficient and effective use of resources. The Claims Specialist position is responsible for posting 3rd party insurance payments. First review of applications will begin on September 1st. Job Description Additional duties include:
Posts payments received from 3rd party payers into billing software from EOB's provided by vendor, accurately matching payment with correct client account and event within 2 business days following deposit date. Combines original supporting documents and attaches deposit report. Posts claim denials included in EOB's or separate denial correspondence to applicable client account and event with accuracy within 2 business days following receipt of EOB or denial correspondence.
Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year in bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative functions involving record keeping or relevant area experience are required. Associate's degree in Accounting or relevant field and one (1) year experience processing electronic and paper health insurance payments is preferred.
