The Opportunity

Join North Americas leading utility aviation team and experience the excitement of flying in a challenging and rewarding environment. TCEnergy is currently hiring a permanent Pilot to support our operations across the USA, based in Charleston WV.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our flight operations team, you'll play a critical role in delivering essential services to support TCEnergy's infrastructure. This position offers unique flying opportunities, including:

  • Aerial support for Pipeline patrols, personal transport
  • Working with skilled professionals in dynamic environments

Act as Pilot in Command as directed by the Base Manager or Chief Pilot by:

  • Being responsible for the operation and safety of the helicopter, and for the safety and security of all persons involved during flight operations.
  • Providing liaison with TCEnergy's lines of business in determining the flight operation of the helicopter to deliver the necessary expertise for helicopter-related work.
  • Providing safety briefings including instruction on aircraft safety/survival equipment location and techniques of use in the event of emergency.
  • Thorough preflight planning for each day's patrol schedule.
  • Overseeing safe configuration of aircraft, i.e. adherence to all up-weight load - limit specifications and proper loading and securement of cargo
  • Conducting administrative tasks at obligatory intervals such as recording flight duty times, aircraft document revision control, and expense and time sheet management, help with hangar related tasks when needed.
  • Participating in the Company's Safety Management system by regularly reporting hazards and incidents when encountered and aiding in the corrective action follow up process

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Education

  • Valid Class 2 Aviation Medical Certificate

  • Valid Commercial (or higher) pilot certificate with minimum of 3000 flight hours on Turbine powered helicopters.

  • Experience on Airbus AS350B2, AS350B3, H125 aircraft.

  • Recent Flying in the Wires Training an asset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) with significant experience flying in remote as well as high density airspace.

  • Experience conducting gas pipeline patrols.

  • Solid aviation knowledge base includes weather reports, GPS and electronic mapping navigational techniques, weather minimums, and aircraft radio communication.

  • Comfortable working with modern electronic systems and document control.

  • Recent Flying in the Wires Training an asset

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)

  • Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review

  • Travel to other company locations up to 75% of work schedule.

  • Stay overnight away from home base

  • Successfully complete pre-employment Bankruptcy, Credit, Civil and Criminal background checks
