Aerospace Kit Technician

Ogden, UT

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for the initial inspection & documentation, replacement of consumed items, expediting details and reassembly and preparation of all inbound Service Bulletin Tooling (SBT) kits for Final Quality Inspection.

Essential Functions:

Initial Inspection & Documentation
  • Inspect and document the condition of all details in kit
  • Replace all consumable items from inventory
  • Expedite details to correct "Next Step": Quality Inspection, Metrology, Scrap, etc.
  • Reassemble kits into original configuration
  • Prepare kits for Final Quality Inspection

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to react favorably in all situations.
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprints.
  • Must keep documents and parts in an organized manner.
  • Possess interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be an advocate of the company vision and mission statements.
  • Good writing skills with experience in business writing.
  • Computer skills i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Education or GED preferred. 1 to 2 years' experience with working knowledge in the following areas: reading of blueprints

  • Must be able to favorably resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Must have a long attention span in order to listen to people, perceive the real problems, and bring issues to a successful conclusion.
  • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position.

Safety Requirements:

  • Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer's safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.

Availability:

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Travel:

Must be available and willing to travel as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in a typical warehouse and office setting.
  • Spends time in a typical fabrication and machine shop environment.
  • May be required to work some overtime.
