Network Administrator

Position Summary

The Network Administrator serves as an IT professional responsible for maintaining the security, integrity, and optimal performance of the organization's network infrastructure-across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role demands advanced expertise in Microsoft Azure, with a strong focus on designing, implementing, and managing secure and scalable cloud network architectures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep technical proficiency in Azure networking and services and resources.

Key Responsibilities

Network Engineering



  • Azure Network Design & Architecture


    • Design, deploy, and maintain Azure-based network infrastructures, including VNets, NSGs, ASGs and VPN Gateways
    • Optimize network performance, load balancing, and redundancy to ensure high availability and operational efficiency.


  • Network Security Implementation


    • Configure and manage Azure Firewall, Network Security Groups (NSGs) to ensure secure perimeter defense and internal segmentation.
    • Deploy and maintain firewalls, secure routers, and endpoint protection across hybrid environments.
    • Monitor for unauthorized access, traffic anomalies, and DDoS threats using Azure Monitor.


  • System & Infrastructure Maintenance


    • Maintain and update network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
    • Perform regular system updates, patches, and firmware upgrades to address vulnerabilities.
    • Manage configuration baselines and change control procedures for all network environments.


  • Troubleshooting & Technical Support


    • Diagnose and resolve connectivity, performance, and security issues across Azure networks.
    • Assist the team with Helpdesk Tickets when needed.



Access Control & Identity Management



  • Administer user authentication and authorization through Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
  • Implement and maintain Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and least privilege access controls within Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) and Azure environments.
  • Ensure strict alignment with corporate security policies and compliance frameworks.


Zero Trust & Compliance



  • Zero Trust Implementation (ZTNA)


    • Design and implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) frameworks to secure user access to corporate resources.



Required Skills & Expertise



  • Cloud & Network Technologies


    • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Azure Networking, including VNets, VPNs, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, and NSGs.
    • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 integration and cloud security management.


  • Networking Protocols

    • Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.


  • Security Solutions & Tools

    • Experience with Ubiquiti, Check Point, SonicWall, Azure Firewall, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Sentinel.


  • Automation & Scripting

    • Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, and Python for automating network configuration, monitoring, and security operations.




Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network administration, including at least 3 years of hands-on Azure network management.
  • Relevant certifications strongly preferred:


    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
    • CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent certifications.
