Location: Colorado Springs, CO (United States Air Force Acacemy)

Type: Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $130,000 - $145,000 Annually, dependent on experience

Tessera is hiring a Quality Control/Safety Manager to support operations at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA). The role oversees safety and quality programs, ensures regulatory compliance, leads inspections and audits, and manages training across CE functions

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Core Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs.
  • Uphold and embody Tessera's core values.
  • Align team goals with Tessera's value proposition, ensuring highly engaged employees contribute to customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards on job sites through effective risk controls and utilize Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
  • Conduct root cause analyses to promote a safe working environment and maintain adherence to Tessera's Accident Reporting process.
  • Foster positive client interactions using effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect, empathy, and responsiveness.

Essential Duites:

  • Oversee and enforce all safety and quality control programs, including OSHA, USACE EM 385-1-1, ANSI, and ISO standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific plans: Safety, Quality Control, Environmental Protection, Physical Security, Fire Safety, and Utilities Conservation
  • Lead and manage QC/Safety personnel, providing training, performance evaluations, and ongoing development
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and performance analyses to ensure contract compliance and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate cross-functional safety representatives and lead regional initiatives supporting small business units
  • Collaborate with district managers, HSE teams, and office coordinators to align safety and quality strategies
  • Investigate incidents, support legal/audit processes, and implement corrective actions to reduce risks
  • Facilitate training programs across all offices on regulatory compliance, safety leadership, and process improvements
  • Communicate procedural updates, manage departmental responsibilities, and respond to internal/external customer inquiries
  • Drive corporate safety goals, track system effectiveness, and promote a culture of accountability and excellence

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in Logistics or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience: 3-5 years in Contstruction, Facilities Mainteannce, or General Industry
  • Certifications (Preferred): OSHA 10 or 30, First Aid-CPR Trainer
  • Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with ISO systems and audit procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication
  • Comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with disabilities
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support across functions

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
