The Institute for Human Development (IHD), a University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University's goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development and information dissemination.

The Early Childhood Innovation Center works on improving the field of early childhood education throughout a unified state-wide implementation of quality improvement initiatives. The ECIC envisions a world where young children and their families flourish in all aspects of development through supportive communities.

Job Description

Early Childhood Team Lead will supervise a team of Early Childhood Quality Specialists (ECQS), who will assess and coach early childhood administrators and/or educators for the quality initiatives teams. The Team Lead will monitor and support the ECQS to ensure fidelity and reliability to assessment protocols, the Practice-Based Coaching model, and monitor activities relevant to the project. Team Leads also serve as project leadership for the quality initiatives projects and provide significant input and collaboration in service delivery methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with early childhood programs, assign observational assessments, make coaching assignments, and solve problems to ensure the Project protocols are followed
  • Supervise and lead a team of early learning quality specialists using a reflective supervision model
  • Recruit, interview and make hiring recommendations for new team members
  • Implement staff orientation, support training on the Practice-Based Coaching model, monitor the team's training and certification on the assessment tools and review data
  • Analyze assessment and coaching data for Project fidelity implementation
  • Establish and maintain certification on observation instruments
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field
  • 3 years experience in early learning or educational setting
  • Experience supervising teams to successful program/project implementation
  • Experience implementing Practice-Based Coaching (PBC)
  • Experience conducting classroom-based assessment
  • CLASS (Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K) certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood best practices
Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated salary range starting at $68,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
