Join IMEG as a Landscape Architecture Intern in Woodbury, NY, and bring outdoor spaces to life through innovative design. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll collaborate with experienced landscape designers, landscape architects, and land development professionals to create practical, aesthetic and sustainable environments. From preparing planting plans and preservation strategies to producing renderings, technical drawings, and presentation materials, you'll contribute directly to real-world projects. You'll work within project budgets, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and gain hands-on experience that blends creativity with technical precision-building your skills, portfolio, and professional network to launch your career in landscape architecture.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Prepare exhibits, presentation graphics, and renderings
  • Assist with landscape, planting, and tree preservation plans
  • Conduct research, calculations, and data entry for plans and reports
  • Support concept and schematic landscape design
  • Participate in site visits and tree assessments
  • Prepare landscape sheets for entitlement submissions and site plans for processing and implementation

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA), or equivalent required
  • Prior internship experience in the land development industry preferred
  • Good graphic skills, and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organization and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and CAD software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Salary Range $22/hr - $24/hr. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
