DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Licensed Professional Geologist, you will monitor and review coal and mineral resource recovery operations occurring on State Game Lands to ensure compliance with existing permits, leases and agreements, and to assess the impacts of such operations to wildlife populations, habitats, critical ecosystems, streams, springs, surface waters, and groundwater. Work involves conducting periodic field inspections of sites actively being developed for mineral resources, evaluating and reporting identified issues. This position evaluates and reviews construction, erosion and sedimentation control, reclamation, revegetation and other plans submitted by coal or mineral operators on State Game Lands with an emphasis on avoiding or minimizing impacts to wildlife, wildlife habitats, and sportsmen and outdoor recreationists. You will have the opportunity to investigate and resolve issues associated with coal and mineral resource recovery operations occurring on State Game Lands which may have resulted in potentially adverse impacts to wildlife populations, habitats, critical ecosystems, streams, springs, surface waters and groundwater. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, three days in the office, two days teleworking once initial six month training period is complete. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:
- You must possess an active license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- You must possess an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
