GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing on-site policies and programs covering the following: staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, HRIS administration, training, health & safety, and employee rewards & recognition.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Leads and manages Human Resources department for Kratos site location.
  • Develops and interprets human resources programs, policies, procedures, and controls; and recommends changes or innovations where desirable.
  • Ensures that employment practices are in compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
  • Directs staffing and recruiting activities, assuring that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired.
  • Coordinates selection, promotion, compensation, and placement of internal company personnel.
  • Confers with leadership regarding employee relations issues, conducts investigations, and initiates corrective action as needed.
  • Administers training programs and ensures that employee training is current per the division Quality Management System.
  • Manages employee performance appraisal programs.
  • Manages employee rewards and recognition programs, including utilizing vendors to support multi-tiered recognition, and coordinating HR sponsored employee engagement events.
  • Works in partnership with site location Environmental Health & Safety department to help oversee the administration of employee health and safety.
  • Works in conjunction with the corporate office to help coordinate employee benefit programs (medical, dental, 401k, etc.).
  • Administers leave of absence and workers compensation programs.
  • Maintains necessary files on personnel, including employment and training records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervise human resources staff.

Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with the human resources staff and leadership team.
Ability to develop human resources strategy and goals in alignment with overall company objectives.
Ability to communicate, influence, and gain commitment of leadership team to align to and execute on key initiatives.
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government and company standards.
Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
MS Office proficient.

COMPENSATION:

$125,000 - $150,000/year

  • B.S. Degree in a related field.

    • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.


  • 7-10+ years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a defense contractor or manufacturing environment.


Preferred:



  • SPHR certification preferred


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Office and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:



  • 10-25% May be required between KUAS locations.
