Department of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery Job Description

Simply put, our mission is to Teach, Heal, Discover and Serve. We are seeking applicants for a Veterinary Assistant position in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation service. The Small Animal Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Service aims to be Missouri's premier performance and rehabilitation center for companion and working animals. With a team-based approach, we are committed to offering leading-edge care to optimize recovery, performance of daily life and sport activities, and quality of life for our patients. Typical responsibilities for the Veterinary Assistant may include: Safely restrain, handle, and transport patients
Veterinarians throughout the Midwest refer animal clients to the Veterinary Health Center for specialized diagnoses and treatment. With sophisticated therapeutic equipment that includes an underwater treadmill, advanced imaging techniques, and groundbreaking equine lameness diagnostic equipment, we are a center for animal healthcare. Our facility, located at Clydesdale Hall, provides state-of-the-art teaching and medical services, including ambulatory services. In addition to regular check-ups and preventive health care, we feature cutting edge surgical and intensive lifesaving medical care. Shift
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. Normal hour are during the day, Monday through Friday. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with or handling animals is necessary. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Successful candidate will exhibit the following skills and core competencies:
