The Clinical Research Coordinator will work within the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Newborn Medicine to assist the principal investigator in conducting NIH-funded clinical nutrition and body composition research based within Brigham and Women's Hospital's Center for Child Development and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Clinical Research Coordinator will work independently under the day-to-day supervision of the Project Manager and in close collaboration with an experienced clinical research team to contribute to daily study operations. The role's primary focuses include assisting with and/or conducting follow-up study visits in our Center for Child Development as well as assisting with measurements and collecting data within the NICU setting.
Within this role, there are opportunities for education and career development, including attendance of seminars, work-in-progress meetings, and clinical case discussions. Opportunities to participate in oral or poster presentations and/or to contribute to manuscript preparation may be available after six months of employment. A two-year commitment is strongly preferred. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Skills Required:
Qualifications: BA/BS degree required; psychology, child development, health science, nutrition, psychology, health science, sociology, family systems degree preferred. Experience in a clinic or hospital setting strongly preferred. Hands on experience with infants, toddlers and preschoolers strongly preferred. Basic data analysis skills would be a strong advantage. Previous experience in clinical research would be a strong advantage. Fluency in Spanish would be an advantage. Diverse candidates encouraged to apply. Working Conditions: Most duties will be performed in the outpatient follow up clinics and in the research offices. Duties will be also performed in the NICU and in in the homes of study participants. Occasional evening and weekend shifts may be required. May require the lifting, carrying of supplies, sitting on the floor, and the pushing, pulling carts.
