DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will utilize the SMART System on a daily basis, making the necessary changes and updates to policies, as required by policyholders, brokers/agents, and Pennsylvania Compensation Review Board (PCRB) and Coal Mining Compensation Review Board (CMCRB) correspondence. Additional responsibilities include processing all department mail, both incoming and outgoing, as well as answering telephone calls from Brokers/Agents, Policyholders, and other related parties regarding policy issues and underwriting policies and procedures.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Ten (10) years or more of experience providing excellent customer service.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- You must demonstrate the ability to adhere to the values and ethics of the Department of Labor and Industry.
- You must demonstrate the ability to work with professionalism, discretion, and good work ethic.
- You must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
- You must show initiative and problem-solving skills.
