About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to partner closely with our Marketing teams at a high growth pre-IPO startup, as part of Verkada's growing Strategic Finance & Business Operations team. You will play a critical role as an analytical thought partner to our CMO, Data Science, and Demand Generation leaders to help manage spend allocation decisions and better understand the efficacy of our Marketing programs, as well as help lead quarterly business reviews, define top level goals and key business metrics, and manage other executive operating rhythms. This role will report directly to the VP of Strategic Finance & Business Operations.

What You'll Do

  • Be the primary Biz Ops business partner to the CMO and Marketing org
  • Shepherd the planning and goal-setting process for Marketing-driven pipeline, ROI, and other key funnel metrics, and align these to the broader topline goals of the company
  • Help generate insights around the performance of our various acquisition channels and marketing programs across the funnel / buying lifecycle
  • Tackle critical change projects within Marketing that will help us operate the business at the next level of scale

What You Bring

  • 6-8+ years of progressive high growth experience. You're coming to us from a Growth, Strategic Finance, Business Operations, or other highly analytical role at a fast growing startup, and may have begun your career in investing, management consulting, and/or investment banking. Prior experience working on or closely partnering with data-driven Growth teams is a plus
  • High analytical horsepower paired with strong modeling and data skills. You can effortlessly translate business concepts and frameworks to well structured spreadsheet models, and have the analytical toolkit to autonomously generate insights through data. Fluency in database concepts, SQL, and modern BI tools is also a must.
  • Attention to detailand strong strategic instincts. You are meticulous in ensuring your and others' output is precise and error-free, but pair this with a strong sense for 80/20 to know when things "pass the smell test" and what is critical vs. secondary to an answer.
  • A growth mindset and comfort with ambiguity. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment that will require you to create structure out of ambiguity, manage often competing priorities, and pivot quickly when circumstances change.
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills. You can effectively engage with a diverse array of stakeholders ranging from sales reps to engineers, and build the credibility, relationships, and buy-in necessary to strike the delicate balance between partnering and constructive challenging that this role requires. Fantastic written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • A team player with a low "ego to smarts ratio". You bring a positive, learn-it-all (not know-it-all) energy to your teams, and are generally known for being great to work with. Life is short... we want to enjoy the time we spend with our colleagues!
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
