Overview
FTI is looking for an Information System Engineer (ISSE) to join our team. This ISSE position requires at least a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance and located in Colorado Springs, CO. The ISSE will support the development, testing, and deployment under U.S. Space Force (USSF). They will collaborate with a diverse program team and must be able to communicate effectively in obtaining and synthesizing requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Space/Ground Systems across the Department of Defense (DoD) Space domain.
Responsibilities
Perform requirements analysis, development, and verification across the full system lifecycle.
- Develop, write, and execute test procedures at component, subsystem, and system levels.
- Support system integration and test activities, including setup and use of RF equipment.
- Create and maintain test plans, schedules, and documentation for program reviews.
- Utilize engineering tools (PLM, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA) to manage requirements, track progress, and ensure traceability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, industrial, and software engineering) to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Lead small teams or work packages, providing direction, communication, and coordination across technical groups.
- Participate in program reviews, presenting technical findings and status updates to leadership and customers.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and communication within engineering departments.
Education/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Materials Science, Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, or related discipline required). Master's degree preferred but not required.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Systems Integration & Test roles.
- Active Top Secret clearance. TS/SCI preferred.
- Experience with requirements management, traceability, and verification.
- Hands-on experience with RF systems, test equipment, and system-level integration.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., SysML/Cameo).
- Proficiency in engineering and collaboration tools such as JIRA, PLM, SharePoint, Confluence, Creo, Windchill.
- Strong understanding of Agile project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Desired Skills
- Background in space, ground, or communications systems development.
- Prior experience supporting U.S. Government or DoD programs.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across interdisciplinary systems.
For this role, the annual compensation range for candidates in Colorado is ($100K- $120K)*. *Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
