Job Overview

SUMMARY

The Manager of Security Operations for the North Campus is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the North Campus Hospital and the Broomfield Therapy Care. The Security Manager will attain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff. The security program will be managed through established standards including effective staffing assignments to meet security and safety needs. The Security Manager, North Campus has responsibility to manage services within the allocated budget and to raise awareness regarding security, safety, and fiscal concerns or challenges. The Security Manager for the North Campus will report directly to the NOC Site Security Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.

Plans, operates and manages the system's Security Management Program to provide for the overall Joint Commission and regulatory compliance, security, loss prevention, workplace violence, emergency response, investigations and asset protection for the organization's team members, patients and families and property.
Manages day to day operations and security personnel, including vendors, in planning and facilitating efficient security services to ensure quality, consistency and safety across the system.
Provides reports on incidents, use of force and training requirements to ensure compliance with policies and law
Assigns and reviews work, provides work instruction (OTJ or formal training) and develops team members. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuous feedback. Manages discipline and performance issues; hires and fires team members. Identifies resource needs and develops recommendations for meeting needs.
Oversees third-party contractors and responsible for their operational management processes.
Maintains compliance with all healthcare safety and security based regulatory standards, rules and regulations.
Collaborates with the Director to determine the highest and best use of access control systems and digital recording systems and other security technology and patient safety priorities.
Works with departmental leaders to establish reliable data associated with critical goals and other key performance indicators.
Performs project management activities and provides technical expertise on programs, processes and best practices.
Participates in leadership activities for department, contributing to the organization's achievement of goals and objectives; evaluates team performance. Defines and maintains internal processes for function; establishes customer service standards and handles operational and customer service escalations for function. Nurtures the organizational culture, influencing change to support functional objectives.
Develops and maintains partnerships with community partners. (e.g. Law Enforcement).
Participates in developing budget recommendations, monitoring budget and identifying cost saving opportunities
Coordinates internal resources and third-parties' contractors for the execution of programs, projects, or initiatives.

SCOPE & LEVEL

Guidelines: Guidelines are in the form of stated goals and objectives for function.

Complexity: Work assignment is unstructured and leader is responsible for implementing and managing a variety of objectives, resources, and initiatives to achieve the goals of the function. Duties performed include operational planning; developing standards, priorities, guidelines, processes, measurement (evaluation) systems; implementation of production and performance management standards; and allocating resources. Work is tactical and operational in nature.

Decision Making: Employee is responsible for planning, organizing, allocating resources, ensuring compliance with procedures, and achieving the objectives of the function.

Communications: Communication at this level is primarily internally focused and involves establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members, peers, directors, and executives. Provides guidance and interpretation of the enterprise's policies, procedures, and standards. Provides information to higher-level directors and executives.

Supervision Received: Responsible for achieving the objectives of function within the scope of established guidelines. Employee is expected to resolve problems that arise in the normal course of the work. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and feasibility of decisions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelors' degree in Business Management, Operations, Health Care Administration, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice or a related field. Preferred Educatiion: Master's Degree
  • Experience: 3 years of operations experience in a facilities setting required. 3 years of security, emergency management or police operations experience in a healthcare facility setting is preferred.
  • Equivalency: Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor's degree requirement on a year for year basis.
  • Certification(s): N/A
  • Licensure(s): Preferred active Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) permit for Colorado at the time of hire.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $82,095.81 to $123,143.72
