*Description*
This Sales Support role is designed to provide critical support to the sales organization by managing customer relationships, ensuring order accuracy, and driving operational efficiency. The position begins with a full-time onsite presence in Waukegan, IL (5 days/week), transitioning to a remote schedule after training. Key Responsibilities Customer Relationship & Communication -Build and maintain relationships across various levels within customer organizations. -Communicate proactively with customers via written correspondence, reports, and direct outreach to ensure timely order placement. -Create and maintain Customer Profiles in a centralized Customer Database. -Collaborate with Finance to resolve billing disputes and reduce problem invoices and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). Order & Demand Management -Monitor customer orders and coordinate with demand planning and supply chain teams to meet requested delivery dates. -Support demand planning through system maintenance, forecasting, and stock monitoring. -Work with engineering to identify acceptable alternative products when necessary. Sales Support & Performance Monitoring -Assist the outside sales force in capturing new business opportunities. -Participate in trade shows and industry events to support business development efforts. -Monitor sales bookings and billings against backlog and forecasts; ensure data accuracy and optimize performance. -Product & Market Expertise -Maintain current knowledge of market segments and competitors. -Develop and apply product knowledge in Motion Control, Drives, and Machine Tool to recommend substitutions and formulate complete system solutions. Quotation & Pricing Management -Create inquiries and quotations for systems and special pricing using product literature such as user manuals and selection guides. -Coordinate with internal teams for special pricing on high-volume or custom customer requirements. -Process Improvement & Documentation -Implement process improvements and assist in developing and revising work instructions to enhance operational efficiency. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Must Haves: - 2 years of sales support or account management from the manufacturing industry - Experience working cross-functionally and with international customers is also required. - Familiarity with SAP or other mainstream ERP systems is preferred, as the role involves using SAP. Nice Haves: - Knowledge of harmonized codes and other international shipping requirements is preferred, but the company can provide training on these. - While not required, the ability to communicate in Japanese would be helpful for working with the team in Japan. *Working Normal Business Hours:* * 8am - 5pm * Training - will start onsite 5 days a week and then after training the role will work remote *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
