Position: Pipefitter/Welder

Essential Functions:



  • Welds metal parts using gas welding, brazing, and various arc welding processes, including 6010, TIG & Root, and 7018.
  • Performs thermal cutting and grinding of metal materials.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts; fills holes and modifies the size or shape of metal components.
  • Clamps, holds, tack-welds, heat-bends, grinds, or bolts components to required specifications and configurations.
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Monitors fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, or expansion of materials.


Other Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Must pass employer-administered performance tests or certifications required by industry or regulatory standards.
  • Identifies defective materials or faulty equipment operation and notifies supervisors.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies using tools such as straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Proficient in selecting appropriate equipment and products based on job requirements.
  • Demonstrates steady hand control, precision, manual and finger dexterity, and multi-limb coordination.
  • Maintains focus and attention to detail over extended periods.
  • Knowledgeable in the operation, maintenance, and repair of welding machines and tools.
  • Understands raw materials, production processes, quality control measures, and associated costs.


Training, Education, and Qualifications:



  • A combination of relevant education and work experience sufficient to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must be able to weld using 6010, TIG & Root, and 7018 processes in multiple positions.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:



  • Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, dust, smoke, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, and loud noise.
  • Requires heavy physical labor, including lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects; physical work constitutes more than 60% of job duties.
  • Work involves potentially hazardous conditions requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of protective equipment.
  • Site visits may involve exposure to a wide range of hazards and require compliance with customer-specific safety standards.
  • Physical requirements include finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, multi-limb coordination, and full manual dexterity.
