Summary of Job Duties:The Project Manager Master supports all divisions of the entire UAMS enterprise in the "key areas of responsibility" (KAR) listed below. Works with little to no supervision, exercising appropriate judgment and operational considerations. Supports all aspects of the development and implementation of the larger and most complex projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects primarily for the Epic applications and other third-party systems. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree plus 4 yrs. Project Management experience or IT experience in a healthcare setting or any combination of the two, -OR- Bachelor's Degree plus 6 yrs. Project Management experience or IT experience in a healthcare setting or any combination of the two,-OR- Associate's Degree, plus 8 yrs. Project Management experience or IT experience in a healthcare setting or any combination of the two, -OR- High School Diploma or GED plus 10 yrs. Project Management experience or IT experience in a healthcare setting or any combination of the two.
  • Must have 4 years of total combined experience in leading teams/projects
  • Able to work in MS Windows and client server environment.
  • Knowledge of information system software development standards and associated hardware resources.
  • Position requires individual to manage projects with systems and networks over varying connectivity on UAMS main campus.

Licenses, Certificates, or Registration:

  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration or related field of study.

Additional Information:

  • Responsible for coordinating & collaborating with multiple teams and assisting by leading or participating in the team's work and distribution of responsibilities related to project and task management of assigned teams.
  • Performs data collection and root cause analysis of barriers to success and offers potential solutions to stakeholders. Communicates clearly and often, as well as documenting, following and enforcing approved change control procedures. Drives and facilitates coordination of efforts required from technical teams, vendors and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs. Prepares activity and other reports as necessary. Attains necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy.
  • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Defines project scope and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. Provides guidance to project team. Incumbent might also be company's expert on specific technologies.
  • Reports to the Director of Project Management Office, and works with CIO, Director's managers and staff at all levels through multi-disciplinary teams. Must be efficient at project planning, collaborative goal setting, and motivating all connected to feel ownership of project goals and deliverables. Workload and deadline pressure will regularly subject incumbent to moderate to high job-related stress.
  • Provides basic project management and change management training and mentoring to the entire project management team, as well as carrying out other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
