Applies comprehensive knowledge of administrative concepts, practices and procedures and a detailed knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to performing complex specialized function-related administrative/clerical tasks related to tracking and documenting proposed product design changes. Coordinates recording of modifications for management control.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Plans and accomplishes a complete range of assignments and tasks within the configuration management discipline that are varied and complex requiring considerable experience and judgment.
  • Confers with manufacturer or customer representatives to communicate and explain the change reporting procedures, and prepares change authorization and documentation for approval by company and subcontractor personnel.
  • Reviews proposed part design changes and exhibits to prepare report of effect on overall product for management action. Conducts research and compiles information for reports, reviews status of projects, coordinates meetings, prepares status reports and documents.
  • Confers with department managers to obtain additional information or to interpret policies and procedures for reporting changes in product design. Acts as an information source on configuration management issues.
  • Audits subcontractor's inspection or technical document preparation procedure to verify compliance with contract requirements.
  • Prepares or coordinates the activities of personnel preparing manual or automated records of part design change documents and first article configuration inspection.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum 2 Year / Associate Degree.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

  • Communicates effectively in both written and verbal form using electronic media, telephone and direct contact with internal and external personnel.
  • Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point to develop spreadsheets and databases and produce reports and presentations.

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
