Job DescriptionSUMMARY: To assist the Project Engineering team in their daily work and to complete special assignments. The Project Engineer (PE) job has responsibility for system design and technical definition (including reviewing drawings and creating engineering orders), customer requirements flow-down and management, technical project team leadership, creation of qualification/certification deliverables, development and qualification test conceptualization and execution, and providing technical oversight and guidance to all internal functions. Must work well in a team environment. This role is a preparatory role for company future hires in Project Engineering for a competitive advantage. This position reports to the Director of Product Engineering with dotted-line supervision by one or more Project Engineers. What is the MISSION for this person? This person is to help the PE team accomplish projects focused on developing new products, technically supporting existing products, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and the company as a whole. The intern position can lead to becoming a Project Engineer, or can lead to other technical positions within the organization, depending on need and aptitude. At any given time, approximately 25% of the Engineering and Programs department employees were at one time interns with the company.
