About the role:

Global Sales Strategy & Operations (GSSO) is the team that helps shape Gartner's mission-critical sales priorities and works with sales leaders to drive tactical and analytical insights. As an associate on the GSSO team, you'll be at the forefront of the ongoing transformation of Gartner's sales force, which delivers approximately $4.9B in annual revenue and working to drive sustained double-digit growth. You will partner with business leaders across Gartner to support a global sales force comprised of more than 5,000 associates who sell to every major function, industry and market sector around the world.

This role will be a part of the Territory Planning & Analytics (TPA) team in the broader Global Sales Strategy & Operations (GSSO) organization. You will partner with leaders across Gartner's global Client Services Organization to determine where, when and how the company should optimize its substantial investment in Services professionals. The TP&A team enables Services leaders to focus more of their time on developing their teams and driving business results by acting as a key advisor to guide strategic and tactical decision-making at the regional and local levels regarding the design of services territories and associate productivity.

What you will do:

  • Partner with Gartner's Services leaders to define growth needs and design territories that align with corporate services strategy and guidelines

  • Analyze internal and external data to identify trends and characterize market opportunity at various levels (e.g., region, industry, local area, company) to inform the design strategy

  • Provide Services managers & leaders with detailed description of respective territories to enable effective communication and planning with their team on their territories

  • Independently and completely own high-complexity analytical projects that entail detailed analysis of territory and retention data to provide senior services leaders information and advice to maximize revenue and margin

  • Run annual and monthly processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and growth and help services leaders achieve retention targets

  • Facilitate decision-making by modeling potential scenarios related to allocation of services professionals, current clients and prospects

  • Drive regular and multiple custom data analyses to inform decision-making of Gartner's services leaders and C-level executives

  • Collaborate with TP&A managers and leaders to independently and fully support one or more services regions as described

  • Establish and share best practices related to creating and optimizing services territories

What you will need:

  • 3+ years of management consulting or analytics experience required

  • Exceptional analytical skills, including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel, databases, etc.

  • Analytical skills include running regression analysis, modeling scenarios, testing hypotheses and working with non-conforming data sets, generating analytical insights etc.

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills to enable direct and frequent conversations with senior leaders in Gartner (VP/RVP/SVP/GVP level)

  • PowerBI experience required, SQL and Python is preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to form relationships with and influence senior leaders

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and independently own project from start to finish

  • Exceptional record of academic achievements; coursework in business analytics, advanced analytics, and business reporting would be preferred

  • Specific work experience related to building business recommendations, business consulting, services operations, services analytics, business analytics, business excellence or operations consulting role is a plus

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI

  • Original/creative thinking and superior problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently and with limited direction

  • Comfortable partnering with multiple, senior stakeholders in different geographies and strong influence skills and ability to build effective partnerships with internal clients

  • Detail-oriented and strong commitment to high quality results to serve needs of Gartner clients, internal partners/stakeholders and service delivery teams

  • Passion for understanding customer needs, improving processes & delivering exceptional customer experience

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 97,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
