We are currently seeking intern/co-op candidates to learn with us as they engage in a variety of hands-on projects alongside our high-performing and authentic R&D team.

Position Summary

The R&D Sustaining Engineering Co-op role offers the opportunity to design and develop solutions to technical problems faced during the development cycle or with commercialized product improvements. This position will work cross-functionally with engineers from other disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software, systems, etc.) on the sustaining or development teams and will assist in several functions, including:

  • Design verification & test method development
  • Test fixture development and troubleshooting test systems
  • Technical data analysis to determine function, performance specifications and support root cause investigations.
  • Documentation of concepts and testing through technical reports
  • Prototyping of new designs, concepts, and fixturing
  • Sharing learnings of new capabilities with others (work instructions or demonstration)
  • Design & technical drawing generation

Training to be Provided

Students will be exposed to working with various operations and product support departments within Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT). They will learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to BMT products.

Additionally, our interns and co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with BMT professionals.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree student with a sophomore or junior level class standing
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Biomedical, Engineering Mechanics, or a related concentration.
  • Minimum 2.8 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship for an employment visa in the future
  • Able to participate full-time on-site (40 hours/week)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with team members from various disciplines, e.g., operations, quality, regulatory, supply chain, etc.
  • Team player with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical writing skills: ability to develop protocols and reports to qualify design changes.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with basic CAD (SolidWorks is a plus)
  • Experience with 3D-printing technology
  • A spirit of curiosity when problem solving or characterizing performance of a component or system
  • Shop/machining experience, prototyping or hands-on work experience
  • Familiarity with basic statistics, data analysis (MINITAB, EXCEL, MATLAB, or R)

Job Location

  • Eden Prairie, Minnesota (no relocation or housing assistance available)

Term/Hours

  • Spring/Summer of 2026 start, 2-3 semester rotation, can be consecutive or non-consecutive semesters. January start dates are preferred, but other start dates will be considered.
  • Hours:40 hours per week

Compensation & Total Rewards:

Estimated Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00/hour

*Estimated Starting Pay Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position. The range provided is based on compensation and market data specific to the position.
