Interstates is seeking a motivated student to join our Sioux Falls office as Cyber Security Interns. This opportunity is ideal for candidates currently pursuing a degree in Network and Security Administration, Cyber Operations, Cyber Defense or related fields. As a Cyber Security Intern, you'll: Assist with Network & Hardware Troubleshooting: Dive into resolving technical issues to support seamless operations. Research Solutions: Explore emerging threats and innovative defenses, contributing to our team's knowledge base. Test & Document: Participate in rigorous testing of systems, documenting procedures and results with precision. Support Incident Response: Be part of our cyber security incident response efforts, gaining experience in tackling real security events. Monitor Compliance: Help ensure adherence to internal and external cyber security policies. Assess & Mitigate Risks: Contribute to evaluating security risks and implementing effective solutions to reduce vulnerabilities. Create Audit Policies & Controls: Develop and refine critical audit processes that protect organizational assets. Education and/or Experience: Pursuing a 4 year degree in Network and Security Administration, Cyber Operations, Cyber Defense or related fields. Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals, understanding of common ports and protocols, and familiarity with common cyber security technologies. Preferred Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills Ability to work individually and as part of a team Self- motivated Compensation: The pay range for this position is $20/hr - $21/hr. Our compensation ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.
