Hiring Hourly Rate: $20.55/Hr.

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Filler Operator This role is responsible for operating, setting up, and troubleshooting production equipment in accordance with company quality, safety, and regulatory standards (GMP, HACCP, GMS). Duties include monitoring equipment performance, performing quality checks, documenting production data in RedZone, maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area, and collaborating with maintenance to minimize downtime.

As a Filler Operator, your essential duties will include:

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot production equipment to meet GMP, HACCP, and GMS standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance and adjust settings to maintain throughput and product quality.
  • Perform in-process quality checks and promptly escalate any deviations.
  • Document production, downtime, and quality data in RedZone accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in line with site protocols.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to diagnose issues and minimize downtime.

As a The Filler Operator, your major responsibilities will include:

  • Follow documented procedures and work instructions per the department quality manual and GMS.
  • Maintain GMP/HACCP/GMS compliance personally and within the department; complete CCP checks and HACCP records accurately and on time.
  • Adhere to allergen protocols and execute correct changeovers.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment (incl. PLCs) to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
  • Track downtime and partner with Maintenance to drive reductions; escalate issues promptly.
  • Meet production schedule targets (OTIF) and continuously monitor equipment performance.
  • Record production/quality data timely and accurately in DAX/RedZone; issue packaging materials accurately and on time.
  • Verify materials, weights, labels, and pallet patterns (per SID) to standard.
  • Handle materials safely: weigh/measure ingredients, perform check-weighs, load pallets, move skids; conduct power lift truck safety checks.
  • Perform physical tasks including repetitive lifting/stacking up to 25 kg.
  • Support quality improvement: reduce NCRs/customer complaints; participate in root-cause analysis and Lean/Kaizen activities.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work area; comply with all product safety, legal, company policy, and safety metric requirements.

2 Year Earning Potential Based on Performance

  • 6 Months - $21.37
  • 12 Months-$22.05
  • 24 Months- $22.79

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; ability to read and follow written work instructions. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Math: Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Reasoning Ability: Apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions; handle standardized situations with few or no variables.
  • Other Qualifications: Must be able to complete the company's Forklift Certification program.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk to communicate and listen effectively. This will require both office and plant-floor environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will occasionally need to operate and drive a forklift or electronic pallet jack to transport materials or goods.

Environmental Concerns:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Dust and odor are present in the environment.
