5 - forklift 1- Hi/LO Forklift Operator Job Summary: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other heavy equipment to move, stack, locate, relocate, and count merchandise throughout the facility. Skills and Competencies: * Ability to operate a forklift safely and effectively * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds * Ability to climb on and off equipment as required * Ability to sit for extended periods * Effective communication skills * Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) * Ability to read and write English and/or follow instructions * Ability to work in dusty environments and in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rainy) * Willingness to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform daily safety checks of forklifts, including inspection of oil, water, and fuel levels * Ensure packaging lines are stocked with empty pallets; notify supervisor of pallet inventory levels * Remove palletized bags from production lines and transfer them to the stretch-wrapper * Operate stretch-wrapper and replace stretch film as needed * Place palletized bags into inventory, ensuring proper row placement and preventing product damage * Maintain plant cleanliness by restacking materials, removing trash/debris, and washing equipment * Load carrier trucks with correct SKU and quantities according to BOLs (Bills of Lading); communicate any discrepancies to the dispatcher or office personnel * Perform physical inventory counts of finished goods as required * Consistently meet established quality and quantity standards * Maintain proper equipment fluid levels and ensure safe forklift operation at all times
