Description

Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. Summary: The Food Safety Quality Assurance Lead (FSQA) leads and conducts activities of the FSQA Technicians responsible for the quality assurance of production processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the FSQA staff on the production line.
  • Assist FSQA technicians with operational reports and complete required paperwork (daily process documentation, questions about checks, etc.).
  • Monitors performance of FSQA technicians and provides assessment to FSQA supervisor.
  • Complete documentation and report out comments/warnings given to employees while supervisor absent.
  • Monitor employees (as time permits with running a line) to make sure that checks are being done in a timely manner and all hand/foot dips are being done.
  • Conducts standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with standards and regulations regarding factors such as color, weight, dimension, texture.
  • Reviews purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with HACCP standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Records test data such as weights, temperatures, moisture content, qualities and quantities inspected or graded.
  • Applies proper acceptance/rejection criteria and marks items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
  • Audits production facility and reviews employee behavior for proper sanitation.
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to Production/FSQA Management.
  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities to production.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $27 to $29.10 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Food Safety Quality Assurance
  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HAACP Certification
  • Seafood Industry specific experience preferred.
  • Supervising other employees' experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects
