Your opportunity
New Relic Finance is seeking to add a rising leader to the company's revenue accounting team. The role will be responsible for New Relic's revenue close, reconciliations, controls, and reporting processes. You'll also collaborate closely with Billing, Collection, Deal Desk, Order Management, Technical Accounting and FP&A teams.


What you'll do



  • Manage month-end accounting close process.
  • Operationalize and scale accounting policies in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Streamline and develop scalable processes for revenue accounting.
  • Review non-standard revenue contracts and provide guidance on appropriate revenue treatment.
  • Create/maintain robust SOX documentation and related controls.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and automation projects to accelerate revenue close timeline.
  • Perform revenue analytics and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver insights and reporting packages that inform executive decision-making.
  • Manage disclosure and reporting requirements related to revenue including remaining performance obligation disclosures for financial statements
  • Support external audits.


This role requires



  • 9+ years of combined revenue accounting management and related experience across public companies and the Big 4 audit and accounting advisory practices
  • CPA, strong accounting knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 and Order to Cash process
  • US public company experience, particularly in a SOX-controlled environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities


Bonus points if you have



  • SaaS and/or consumption revenue experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Zuora, SalesForce CPQ, and NetSuite preferred

The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience.
