The Space and Intelligence Division provides professional services to the US Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and NASA. The Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), part of SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process & tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support to military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters. Our portfolio includes the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition & Integration (SAF/SQ), Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), US Space Command (USSPACECOM) and US Space Force (USSF). SPA has an immediate need for a highly qualified Technical Project Lead.


Responsibilities

We are seeking a Technical Project Lead to support a DoD office in the development of rapid prototyping effects focused on Long Range Fires. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Systems Engineering and DoD acquisition including prototyping, military capability development, and familiarity with hypersonics. This position requires substantial technical and programmatic engagements with acquisition partners, vendors, DoD and IC stakeholders, and capability prototype-to-operations transition partners.

Key duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prioritize, orchestrate, and ensure high-quality completion of critical tasks in support of overall project execution.
  • Track/manage technical tasks in support of overall project execution.
  • Oversee a cross functional team composed of Government, National Lab, and Industry performers.
  • Oversee and direct Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) to inform Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) development and validation of requirements.
  • Represent project team at Program Reviews, to include System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs).
  • Oversee Systems Engineering (SE) development and execution.
  • Leverage hypersonics expertise to inform prototyping design.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with SCI and SAP eligibility
  • Minimum 10 years of DoD acquisition experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a science/engineering/electrical or computer related field
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, IC, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners
  • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, and initiative, and require minimal supervision
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams to meet mission objectives
  • Capability to track and coordinate multiple simultaneous efforts
  • Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS
  • Able to effectively communicate and exchange information with peers and senior personnel; good oral and written communication skills
  • Reports to designated work location in Chantilly, VA, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer

Desired:

  • Master's degree or higher in a science/engineering/electrical or computer related field
  • Familiarity with hypersonics
