Role Description

Form Energy is hiring an Electronics Design Manager to lead the PCBA team. This role reports into our System Engineering BMS team. As part of the BMS team, you will contribute to/work on/be involved in battery management controllers and sensor designs in collaboration/partnership with Systems Engineering, Mechanical, and Software Controls teams. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

What you'll do:
  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, fostering an environment of technical excellence, and professional growth.

  • Accountable for the development and delivery of the Battery Management PCBAs, customer sensor electronics, and wire harness definition.

  • Direct the end-to-end development of all PCBA hardware, from concept and design through validation and production.

  • Ensure all designs meet rigorous UL Functional Safety, reliability testing (HALT), and internal performance standards.

  • Establish and standardize a unified electronics development process to improve efficiency, quality, and predictability.

  • Serve as the primary cross-functional liaison with Mechanical, Firmware, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product integration.

What you'll bring:
  • 7+ years of experience in electronics design.

  • 2+ years of experience in a management/leadership position

  • Demonstrated experience in BMS designs, circuit design, PCBA manufacturing, or cross-functional electrical integration in a relevant safety-oriented industry.

  • Experience with setting up design reviews and managing conflicting constraints.

  • Familiarity with the lifecycle and manufacturing for electronics design.

  • Experience in electronics verification and validation.

  • Functional Safety mindset and process.

  • Excellence with communicating design decisions with cross-functional teams, through various stages of the product development process.

  • Ability to manage Jira tasks for a team of engineers, and delegate responsibility to senior members of the team
