Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Box Office Assistant Manager for Mason Gross School of the Arts (
MGSA). Reporting directly to the Department Administrator Supervisor in the University Arts Services of Mason Gross School of the Arts (
MGSA), the Box Office Assistant provides event management, administrative, and supervisory support to
MGSA events.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides excellent customer service, event management and administrative support.
- Provides customer service support by upholding unit customer service protocols and policies during business hours and at performances as well as the execution of student staff duties as needed.
- Provides event management support by acting as on site manager and liaison for student staff, departments and patrons in the absence of a C1 supervisor at Mason Gross events at MGPAC and NBPAC.
- Provides supervisory support by supervising/training student staff during business hours and at performances; administrative support by managing informational materials including, preparing, processing, and controlling records, reports, and documents such as parking requests, donation packs, bulletin boards, end of day financial reports, records management, and event reporting.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Certifications/Licenses |
- A valid driver's license would be required for this position, and have access to a reliable vehicle or other dependable means of transportation for travel to on campus sites.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and customer service experience.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and complete work with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the University Arts Services and MGSA, and the tasks and responsibilities of the position in the achievement of these goals.
- Must comply with University policy on credit card and cash handling.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience working in a similar role in a multicultural university setting, experience in Arts Administration, and/or knowledge of Tessitura ticketing or similar software.

Equipment Utilized |
- Must be familiar with: PC computers and laptops.
- Required to operate or use: Tessitura Ticketing Software, Visual Paradigm, Qualtrics, Surface Pro/iPads tablets, Boca ticket printers, Mifi, Ingenico EMVs, Zebra ticket scanners.

Physical Demands and Work Environment |
- Extended periods of time walking, standing, and/or rotating around a 5 venue Performing Arts Center to maintain management of hourly wage staff and ticketing and front of house operations during performances.
- Routinely required to lift and transport equipment up to 25 pounds.

Special Conditions |
- Must be available to work variable work hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Clean Driving Record.
