Join Straight Flight as a Compliance Manager and use your expertise to develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs that ensure our Part 145 Repair Station meets FAA & EASA regulations, OSHA standards, customer requirements, and internal quality objectives.

In this role, you will lead compliance activities across the repair station, including developing audit plans, conducting internal audits, responding to external (FAA, EASA, and DCMA) requests, and preparing recommendations for process improvements. You will also serve as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the company's drug and alcohol testing program, ensuring compliance with FAA, EASA, and DOT requirements. By partnering with leadership and technical teams, you will promote a culture of compliance, drive continuous improvement, and support the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the compliance audit program for the Part 145 Repair Station.
  • Plan, conduct, and document internal audits covering regulatory compliance, OSHA safety requirements, quality systems, and financial controls.
  • Support external audits and inspections (FAA, EASA, DCMA, OSHA), including compiling requested documentation and coordinating responses.
  • Analyze audit results and operational data to identify deficiencies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as the Designated Employer Representative (DER), overseeing FAA/DOT drug and alcohol testing program compliance.
  • Act as the company's Training Manager: provide initial and recurring training to employees, track training completion, and maintain accurate records; develop or update training materials as needed to support compliance, safety, and quality objectives.
  • Prepare and present clear, actionable reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations (FAA, EASA, FAR, DFARS, CAS, OSHA) and ensure company policies and procedures remain aligned.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Foster a strong compliance culture that supports safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management, safety, quality, or a related field; typically 6+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or auditing.
    • Equivalent higher education or directly relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Proven experience in government contracting with working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and CAS.
  • Solid understanding of FAA Part 145 regulations, OSHA standards, and audit methodology.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, identify compliance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to management and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Basic understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1
  • Experience with Corridor ERP software
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation
  • Computerized maintenance tracking system experience, (CAMP, Traxall, Cescom, etc.)
  • Heavy repair, modification and inspection of both metallic and composite structures experience.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
