Job Description

Position Summary:

The Aerospace Assembly Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training programs that teach new and current employees how to assemble, fit, and install aircraft parts and subassemblies. This role requires a strong technical background in aerospace manufacturing and excellent communication skills to ensure trainees learn and adhere to strict industry safety and quality standards.

Reporting Relationships:

The Assembly Trainer reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and revise technical training materials, lesson plans, and instructional aids to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, such as AS9100
  • Deliver theoretical classroom instruction and hands-on practical training in a simulated manufacturing environment
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and feedback to help employees develop skills and address performance gaps
  • Onboard new assembly technicians by guiding them through initial training and integrating them into production teams
  • Develop leadership training for supervisors and team leads
  • Teach trainees how to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Instruct on the proper use of specialized hand and power tools
  • Demonstrate and coach on assembly techniques, including riveting, drilling, sealing, electrical bonding, and installing fasteners and hardware
  • Provide training on specific processes such as composites and sheet metal assembly
  • Ensure trainees are proficient in using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Emphasize strict adherence to all safety protocols, quality assurance processes, and environmental requirements
  • Deliver regulator and compliance training to ensure the workforce meets all industry standards
  • Monitor and track employee training and certification records
  • Perform line audits to identify training gaps and ensure processes are followed correctly
  • Evaluate training outcomes using assessments, projects, and observation
  • Analyze performance metrics and feedback to drive continuous improvement in training methods and curricula
  • Research and integrate new training techniques and emerging technologies into programs
  • May occasionally perform special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing or maintenance environment, such as Aircraft Maintenance Technician or mechanical assembler required
  • Proven ability to design and deliver technical training for manufacturing or maintenance teams
  • Deep knowledge of aircraft assembly techniques and manufacturing principles
  • Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and assembly instructions
  • Background in areas such as composites, sheet metal, hydraulics, electrical wiring or engine systems preferred
  • Effective instructional delivery and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Patience and ability to mentor and coach trainees with varying skill levels
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor to both employees and management
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as Human Resources, Training and Development, or Engineering preferred
  • Significant hands-on experience or completion of an apprenticeship program can be substituted for formal education
  • Prior instructional experience in an industrial setting preferred

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $88700 to $130000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
