Job Description

SUMMARY:

Provide the technical interface between the customer and PCC Structurals - Aluminum Operations. Manage the daily technical issues, understand product end use and material constraints, define internal requirements necessary to produce the product and address any customer technical concerns if a product fails to meet expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the startup of multiple new parts from blue print receipt to delivery.
  • Manage the actualization of customer changes and revisions.
  • Write instructions for production of new parts.
  • Track sample castings, initiate corrections and adjustments required in a timely manner.
  • Modify instructions and/or write tool order to correct and improve parts.
  • Manage the daily technical issues as appropriate to ensure a consistent and reliable product.
  • Define and approve process items necessary to meet the product material and end use property constraints.
  • Communicate with customers and the Sales department on the status of new parts.
  • Maintain an ongoing technical interface via technical meetings and discussions with customer.
  • Perform necessary technical evaluations to address any customer concern. Investigate claims and document findings.
  • Work with a senior product engineer to set up the gating, investing, casting, and heat treat instructions for new aluminum castings.
  • Provide the necessary technical support as required to other areas of the organization.
  • Active participant in Sample, New Part Introduction and design review meetings.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
  • *Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs.
  • Meet established attendance standards.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required preferably in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in investment casting industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and drawing interpretation.
  • Basic understanding of cast products and processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and address any customer concerns.
  • Solid communications skills, both written and verbal.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
